2021/22 GPL: No entry to stadia without proof of COVID-19 vaccination

The President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku says fans without proof of COVID-19 vaccination will not be allowed entry to the stadia to watch games in the soon-to-start Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.

He made this known at the 27th Ordinary Session of the GFA Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram Thursday.

“We are engaging government to ensure we have more fans accessing our games,” Okraku said.

“One of the key requirements will be the need for all of us to ensure we are vaccinated to be able to access football.

“So, what that means is that all our players and staff will be vaccinated.

“Indeed that process has started, and all football fans who will want to access our games live at the various stadia must prove they have received vaccination.”

Kurt Okraku also added that no full capacity stadia are allowed yet, but only 25 percent capacity.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on Friday, October 29 with newly-promoted Accra Lions hosting Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.
